Welcome to my website. I offer ‘walk-and-talk’ therapy in natural settings. I am a fully-qualified and experienced counsellor, registered with the BACP.
People come to therapy for many reasons, and sometimes our work is discovering what your reasons are. You might be coming to solve a current problem and/or you might want to explore something that feels unfinished from the past.
I trained as a Gestalt therapist, which is a relational approach suitable for a wide range of issues. By 'relational', I mean that we explore what is happening between us to help understand what might be happening for you in other relationships - including your relationship with yourself - and experiment with doing something differently.
I believe (and the research shows) that it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship that is most healing. I offer a caring and responsive presence with whom you can explore what is difficult for you. And, therapy is not only about exploring what is difficult or painful - we can also make space for joy, and everything in between!
I hold sessions in woodlands around High Wycombe and Marlow. We walk or sit during these sessions, as you wish. Being outside offers an alternative to traditional therapy which suits some people, including those who enjoy being in nature.
Experience
I have worked in private practice since qualifying as a counsellor, and have worked with clients with a range of backgrounds and issues. I have worked at a local university and for various agencies, including for an NHS mental health service.
Accreditation and Training
I have an MA and PGDip in Gestalt Therapy and a Diploma in Counselling, all fully accredited by the BACP.
